Compensation: $30,000-$45,000 based on experience

Position Information:  Mayville State University is seeking a Residence Life Manager, responsible for oversight of student housing at Mayville State. Position supervises one live-in professional staff member. This position provides attention and direction for facilities management, and for the development of a residential curriculum in line with stated institutional and divisional learning outcomes. Position provides long-term strategic planning for facilities and program components of residence life. Position may serve as a second-level student conduct officer and may have some involvement in the University’s Title IX processes.

Required Competencies:

  • Familiarity with and experience in residence life in a college or university setting.
  • Demonstrated ability in facilities management.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing student activities and programs.
  • Demonstrated public speaking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills–interpersonal, oral and written
  • Competencies in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and be self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work flexible hours. Occasional weekend and evening hours required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the physical facilities of all University housing, including maintenance and upkeep.
  • Manage room reservation system, student moves, billing, and other residence life matters.
  • Manage card access and other security matters for all residential facilities.
  • Establish a residential curriculum and programming model for the Residence Life team.
  • Develop and implement assessment plans for learning in residential communities.
  • Advise the Residence Hall Association.
  • Staff special events, including summer registration, preview days, orientation, college fairs, signing days, and other Campus events.
  • Sit as a member of the institutional CARE team.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive programs and residence hall experiences specific to inclusion and belonging goals for students, staff, and faculty.
  • Manage a budget and oversee the Residence Hall Association budget.
  • Collaborate with Student Activities and other student services, athletics, and faculty departments to develop and implement student programming in the residence halls.
  • Develop championship events for select intramural sports that might be of interest to the general campus.
  • Nurture a residential atmosphere devoted to inclusiveness and belonging for all students.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Affairs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Science, or related fields
